Balance shaft locking tool set for BMW N47, B47, B48

The Geko balance shaft locking set is used to set the balance shafts on BMW N47, B47 and B48 engines, during repairs that involve removing, refitting or resetting the balance shaft mechanism.

Modular design: a base plate and interchangeable adapters for the different engine families, so one set works on the older N47 and the newer B47/B48 engines.

Balance shafts turn in a fixed relation to the crankshaft and reduce engine vibration. After removal their correct position must be restored – wrong synchronisation mainly causes increased vibration.

Application

BMW N47 (1.6 and 2.0 diesel), B47 (2.0 diesel), B48 (2.0 petrol) and MINI models with these BMW engines. Depending on version: BMW 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, X1, X3, X4, X5; MINI Clubman, MINI.
